A demonstration site — this practice and its clinicians are not real.
An empty therapy room in afternoon light: two oatmeal armchairs angled toward each other across a small round walnut table with a carafe of water, two glasses and a fern, a lit floor lamp, a tall rubber plant, a sage rug, and a long bare plaster wall.

Sessions for adults, couples, families and teenagers

What people bring

We describe what people come with in plain words, and we never ask you to fit a label before you book.

Mei's days and work

Licensed, one person at a time. The title "licensed clinical social worker" and the letters LCSW belong only to people New York has licensed (Education Law § 7702), and a license belongs to a person, never to a practice. On a real practice's site, every clinician's license can be checked on the New York State Education Department's public verification page. The clinicians on this demonstration site are invented and hold no license, so none is claimed and no number is shown.

Some days are office days, and some are video days

Three rooms for five clinicians. The week below shows who is where; the calendar on the booking page shows only the times that fit the choice you make.

Office means in person at 37-32 61st Street; video means by video that day. A dash is a day off.

Office days and video days. Each clinician's day is either an office day, when every session is in person here, or a video day, when every session is by video. Choose in person or video and the calendar shows you the times that fit.

In New York State. Video sessions are for clients who are physically in New York State at the time of each session, because that is the state a New York license covers. If you're traveling outside New York, we may need to pause video sessions or meet in person when you're back.

Out of network. We don't participate in any health insurance networks. If your plan has out-of-network mental health benefits, we can give you a monthly statement (a "superbill") to send in. Whether and how much your plan reimburses is between you and your plan; ask them before you start. If you're using out-of-network benefits, the amount we'll charge is available on request before your first session, and we'll give it to you in writing (Public Health Law § 24).

Cancelling. Twenty-four hours' notice to cancel or move a session; inside that the fee is charged, except the first time in any twelve months.

The free call

Talk first, if you would like to

Talk first, if you like. Book a free fifteen-minute call to see whether we're a good fit. It's a conversation about what you're looking for and how we work, by telephone or video — not a therapy session, and there is nothing to pay for it.

Fifteen minutes goes quickly, so there is a short page on what people ask on it. You can also go straight to a first session if you already know what you want.

Nothing clinical online

This website is for finding a time, and nothing else

Nothing clinical online. This form asks only for what an appointment needs: your name, how to reach you, who you'd like to see, what kind of session and when. It never asks why you're coming — that conversation is for your clinician, not for a website — and nothing you type here is shared with an advertiser, a tracker or anyone outside the practice.

Nothing on this website can tell you what is going on for you. A diagnosis, where one is needed, comes from a clinician who has met you — never from a page, a quiz or a booking form.

Where the forms go, and what a first session is like   Privacy

Confidentiality

Confidential, with limits the law sets

What you tell your therapist is confidential, with limits set by law. We must act if we believe a child is being abused (Social Services Law § 413), if someone is at serious risk of harming themselves or others (Mental Hygiene Law § 9.46), or if a court orders it. We'll go through these limits with you at the start, and you can ask about them any time.

Each limit, and what it means

If you need help now. If you're in danger right now, call 911. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org, 24 hours a day; veterans can call 988 and press 1. You can also text HOME to 741741. Our phone and messages are not monitored outside office hours, and this website is not an emergency service.
