Who this is for

Individual therapy here is for adults of 18 and over who want a regular hour with someone whose only job is to listen and think alongside them. Some people arrive with one particular thing: a decision they can't make, a loss, a pattern that keeps coming back. Others arrive without the words for it yet, and that is an ordinary place to start.

One fee for each kind of session, the same for every clinician here: you choose a clinician for the fit, not for the price.

What to know

  • Sessions are fifty minutes, usually weekly at the same time, in person on an office day or by video on a video day.
  • The first session is mostly listening: what you'd like to be different, what you've tried, and what you want from therapy.
  • After a few sessions you and your clinician look at how it's going, and keep doing that.
  • For adults of 18 and over. Teenagers have their own page.

What a session is like

Fifty minutes, usually weekly.

  1. The first minutes

Your clinician explains how confidentiality works and where it stops, then asks what brought you. Nobody expects you to arrive with it organized, and you don't have to say everything at once.

  2. The rest of the hour

Mostly conversation. Depending on what you bring and who you see, a session might stay with a feeling, trace a pattern back to where it began, or practice something small to try before the next one. The approaches each clinician draws on are written out on their own page.

  3. The last few minutes

Your clinician leaves a little time to say where you've got to and when you'll meet next, so you leave with a plan rather than something left open.

  4. After a few sessions

You and your clinician look at how it's going: whether it is useful, whether the rhythm suits you, whether another kind of help would serve you better. Then you keep looking at it as you go.

How often

Fifty minutes, usually weekly at the same time to start; some people move to every other week later.

No promised result. Therapy works differently for everyone. We can't promise a particular result, and nobody honestly can, but we'll review with you regularly how it's going and whether something else would serve you better.

In person or by video

Each clinician's day is an office day or a video day.

Each clinician's day is either an office day, when every session is in person here, or a video day, when every session is by video. Choose in person or video and the calendar shows you the times that fit.

What it costs

One fee for this kind of session, the same with every clinician.

  • $195 individual session, fifty minutes The same fee with every clinician, in person or by video.
  • Paid at or after each session: card, cash, check, or an HSA or FSA card. One fee however you pay.
  • Twenty-four hours' notice to cancel or move a session; inside that the fee is charged, except the first time in any twelve months.
  • Out of network: we don't participate in any insurance plan.
  • These fees apply from October 1, 2026 to September 30, 2027.

A superbill for this kind of session carries the procedure code 90834: psychotherapy, about 45 minutes (38 to 52).

Every session booked here comes with a written Good Faith Estimate in the confirmation: the fee for each session and what twelve weekly sessions would come to. The law gives a practice one to three business days to send one (45 CFR 149.610); this one sends it with the confirmation.

Out of network. We don't participate in any health insurance networks. If your plan has out-of-network mental health benefits, we can give you a monthly statement (a "superbill") to send in. Whether and how much your plan reimburses is between you and your plan; ask them before you start. If you're using out-of-network benefits, the amount we'll charge is available on request before your first session, and we'll give it to you in writing (Public Health Law § 24).

If the fee is a barrier. A limited number of reduced-fee places are available by arrangement. Ask on your free call; nobody is asked to prove anything to request one.

Nothing clinical online. This form asks only for what an appointment needs: your name, how to reach you, who you'd like to see, what kind of session and when. It never asks why you're coming — that conversation is for your clinician, not for a website — and nothing you type here is shared with an advertiser, a tracker or anyone outside the practice.
