The free call
Talk to us before you book a session
A call of fifteen minutes, by telephone or video. It is not a therapy session, and there is no charge for it.
AI-generated illustration. Not a real office.
Nobody is on the other end of this. This is a demonstration website. Woodside Psychotherapy is not a real practice and has no connection with any real practice in Woodside or anywhere else. The clinicians are invented, nobody here holds or claims a license, no therapy is provided, nothing booked here reaches anybody, and every picture on the site was generated. It was built to show what a practice's own website and booking calendar can look like; the booking system genuinely works, against a database, on this subdomain.

Book a free fifteen-minute call to see whether we're a good fit. It's a conversation about what you're looking for and how we work, by telephone or video — not a therapy session, and there is nothing to pay for it.
Every session booked here comes with a written Good Faith Estimate in the confirmation: the fee for each session and what twelve weekly sessions would come to. The law gives a practice one to three business days to send one (45 CFR 149.610); this one sends it with the confirmation.

Woodside Psychotherapy is not an emergency service. Nobody watches the website, the voicemail or the e-mail inbox outside office hours, and a message left at night is read the next working day.
If you're in danger right now, call 911. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org, 24 hours a day; veterans can call 988 and press 1. You can also text HOME to 741741. Our phone and messages are not monitored outside office hours, and this website is not an emergency service.
What the call is, and what it is not
Talk first, if you like. Book a free fifteen-minute call to see whether we're a good fit. It's a conversation about what you're looking for and how we work, by telephone or video — not a therapy session, and there is nothing to pay for it.
It is
- A conversation about what you are looking for and how we work.
- Fifteen minutes, by telephone or video, whichever you prefer.
- A chance to ask about fit, fees and which clinician would suit you, before you decide anything.
It is not
- A therapy session, and not the place for your whole story.
- Nothing on this website can tell you what is going on for you. A diagnosis, where one is needed, comes from a clinician who has met you — never from a page, a quiz or a booking form.
- A way to reach help in a crisis: the call is booked ahead, and nobody watches this website for emergencies.
Moving or cancelling it
Cancel or move a free call from the link in your confirmation until an hour before it, or just don't pick up: a free call is never charged.

What to ask
You do not need to prepare, but a few questions can save the first session from being spent on logistics.
- Which of the clinicians would suit me, and why?
- Do I come to the office or meet by video, and on which days?
- What is the fee for the kind of session I need, and what happens if I have to cancel?
- Which language will we use?
- How would we know whether it is helping, and when would we look at that?
- What would you suggest if this is not the right fit?
No card on this website. Nothing is paid on this website. The call is free, and a session is paid at or after it, by card, cash, check or an HSA or FSA card, through the practice — never online here.
When messages are read. Messages are answered Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, and returned within one working day. They are not watched in the evening, at night or at weekends.
