Terms
Plain terms: what this demonstration site does, and what a real practice built from it would promise.
Nobody is on the other end of this. This is a demonstration website. Woodside Psychotherapy is not a real practice and has no connection with any real practice in Woodside or anywhere else. The clinicians are invented, nobody here holds or claims a license, no therapy is provided, nothing booked here reaches anybody, and every picture on the site was generated. It was built to show what a practice's own website and booking calendar can look like; the booking system genuinely works, against a database, on this subdomain.
This site is a demonstration built around a fictional practice, Woodside Psychotherapy LCSW, PLLC. Its booking system works, against a real database on this subdomain, and what you book here reaches no real clinician. The terms below are the ones a real practice built from this design would print.
Not an emergency service
Not an emergency service. Woodside Psychotherapy is not an emergency service. Nobody watches the website, the voicemail or the e-mail inbox outside office hours, and a message left at night is read the next working day.
If you need help now. If you're in danger right now, call 911. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org, 24 hours a day; veterans can call 988 and press 1. You can also text HOME to 741741. Our phone and messages are not monitored outside office hours, and this website is not an emergency service.
When messages are read. Messages are answered Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, and returned within one working day. They are not watched in the evening, at night or at weekends.
The free call
Talk first, if you like. Book a free fifteen-minute call to see whether we're a good fit. It's a conversation about what you're looking for and how we work, by telephone or video — not a therapy session, and there is nothing to pay for it.
Cancel or move a free call from the link in your confirmation until an hour before it, or just don't pick up: a free call is never charged.
Fees, as printed
One fee for each kind of session, the same for every clinician here: you choose a clinician for the fit, not for the price.
| Session | Length | Fee | Twelve weekly sessions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free call, by telephone or video | fifteen minutes | No charge | — |
| Individual session | fifty minutes | $195 | $2,340 |
| Couples session | fifty minutes | $240 | $2,880 |
| Family session | fifty minutes | $240 | $2,880 |
| Session for a teenager | fifty minutes | $195 | $2,340 |
A session is charged at the fee printed for its kind of session, and at no other. These fees apply from October 1, 2026 to September 30, 2027.
No card on this website. Nothing is paid on this website. The call is free, and a session is paid at or after it, by card, cash, check or an HSA or FSA card, through the practice — never online here.
Out of network. We don't participate in any health insurance networks. If your plan has out-of-network mental health benefits, we can give you a monthly statement (a "superbill") to send in. Whether and how much your plan reimburses is between you and your plan; ask them before you start. If you're using out-of-network benefits, the amount we'll charge is available on request before your first session, and we'll give it to you in writing (Public Health Law § 24).
If you cancel or miss a session
- Cancel or move a session at least twenty-four hours ahead, from the link in your confirmation or by calling, and there is nothing to pay.
- Cancel with less than twenty-four hours' notice, or miss a session, and the session's fee is charged, because the hour was kept for you and nobody else could have it.
- The first late cancellation or missed session in any twelve months is waived, with no reason needed.
- If the practice has to cancel, you never pay anything for that session.
- A late fee is never sent to your insurance, and a free call is never charged, however it is missed.
Video, teenagers and who can book
In New York State. Video sessions are for clients who are physically in New York State at the time of each session, because that is the state a New York license covers. If you're traveling outside New York, we may need to pause video sessions or meet in person when you're back.
Teenagers, with a parent's consent. We see teenagers aged 13 to 17. A parent or legal guardian books the first session and consents to treatment, and usually joins part of it. What a teenager says in therapy stays private, with a few exceptions we explain to the family at the start, such as a risk of serious harm.
If you're a teenager reading this. A teenager can't book here on their own: in a private practice like this one, New York needs a parent's or guardian's consent for treatment. If you're a teenager and you need to talk to someone now, call or text 988 — it's free, it's confidential, and you don't need anybody's permission — or talk to your school counselor.
What this site does not promise
No promised result. Therapy works differently for everyone. We can't promise a particular result, and nobody honestly can, but we'll review with you regularly how it's going and whether something else would serve you better.
What the license covers. This is written as a practice of licensed clinical social workers; the clinicians on this demonstration site are invented and hold no license. In New York, licensed clinical social workers are authorized to assess, diagnose and provide psychotherapy (Education Law § 7701). Social workers don't prescribe medication; if medication might help, we'll suggest you see a psychiatrist or your doctor.
About the pictures. Every picture on this site was generated, and every one is an empty room or an object: no person, no face, no hand, nobody in distress, and nothing anybody could read.
